Register now for the HistoryCampus Berlin!
Until 17 February 2014, young Europeans can apply for participation in the HistoryCampus! / 100 Years World War One

Dear Sir or Madam,

from 7 to 11 May 2014, up to 500 young interested people from all over Europe meet at the HistoryCampus at the Maxim Gorki Theatre in Berlin Mitte. Young Europeans between 18 and 25 years of age can apply until 17 February 2014 for participation in the event! The HistoryCampus is the central core of the history festival Europe 14I14, which will take place in Berlin in May 2014.

We are looking for young people who are interested in history and politics and are keen to find – together with other Europeans of their generation – answers to the question, what the First World War means for them personally and for their generation. The HistoryCampus provides a space to discover what 1914 and the First World War have to do with 2014 and the life here and now. In various workshops, there will be room to research and discuss, to film and add sound, to play and perform, to write and talk, to draw and narrate. The workshops are accompanied by a broad spectrum of activities that allow for an unusual approach to historical and contemporary topics. Activities include a varied cultural programme with performances, concerts, exhibitions, theatre and readings, thematic explorations of the city and much more.

After successful application, the participants will be invited by the organisers to the HistoryCampus in May. They travel to Berlin for free, are accommodated in a central hostel and integrated into the activities of the HistoryCampus for 3 days.

Please find further information on the application, participation and the workshop programme at www.europe1414.de.

Interested visitors of Berlin are invited to “look back and think forward“ together with the organisers. The history festival Europe 14I14 will take place in Berlin in May on occasion of the centenary of the beginning of the First World War in 2014. Current information about the programme is available at www.europe1414.de which is continuously updated. The Federal Agency for Civic Education organises the festival together with the Koerber-Foundation and the Robert Bosch Stiftung, in cooperation with the Maxim Gorki Theatre Berlin and together with various partners and supporters.
